Love is in the 'Pool'
On Tuesday February 14 the four houses of IGS battled it out for supremacy in the pool at the High School Swimming Carnival. The theme of the day was “love is in the water”, and IGS students proved once again that they will use any excuse to dress up, donning tutus, wigs, a Super Mario Bros Luigi suit and even a toga. Throughout the day students represented their houses in swimming races in breaststroke, freestyle, butterfly and backstroke according to their age group, cheered on by their friends and House.
According to Year 12 student Eve, it felt like the first proper carnival post-COVID. “Everyone showed up and there was a lot of excitement and people really bringing back House spirit,” said Eve. “We don’t know who yet, won but Bamal won the House cheering competition! We were all very happy.”
It would seem love (for their School, their House and their friends) was not only in the water at the swimming carnival, but in the air too.
Congratulations to all participants and a special congratulations to our winning house Kuyal, we well as our outstanding age champions.
